My boston terrier had two cat scratches around her tail. After almost four months and around of antibiotics I thought they were healed but they both became inflamed again. One opened up into a shallow wound. I planned on making another vet appointment but I read about this stuff and thought I would give It a try at least for a day or two. I wash it twice a day and use a prescription antiseptic spray from the vet. Then I apply a little dab of this stuff. It's been a week and both places look much better.the wound is closed and isn't red or inflamed.
I plan on watching it like a hawk until the skin is completely healed and her fur grows back but for now I'm impressed with bag balm

Use this for my dogs hot spots. A short-haired American Staffy. He gets hot spots due to his short hair on his stomach area from being outside. Chews at them all the time. I used this on them and his spots cleared up in a few weeks. The vets didn't know what to give me other then expensive ointments or pills to knock him out. I said screw them and spoke to a family friend of mine. She referred me to "pulvex". Gave me a little bit and it worked. Come to find out they don't make it anymore and this is the replacement for it I guess. Same ingredients as the pulvex. My dog actually likes it I think. He rolls over now when I get it out.

This product works incredibly well for my family. I use it on everything from dry, cracked heels, to skinned knees, and it keeps skin soft and protected while helping to heal. I've even used it on my dogs' minor skin irritations and had great success.
It's a generously sized container, and I feel that I definitely got my money's worth. However, the product itslef-- while working very well-- does smell a bit odd, and is hard to wash out of clothing/bedding. Provided that one is careful with it,l this isn't a problem, adn I highly recommend this product!

This is a wonderful product if you are in need of moisture for very dry, tender, splitting, skin. A little goes a long way and one can will last you a lifetime. It certainly suits my purpose and I can't say enough good about it.
